Interview Final

My Interview

This quarter in my e-comm class, I learned so much about filing and video production. I learned how to film and edit video using the cameras, tripods, and software. I learned all of the convenient shortcut keys including the arrow keys, blade too, i for in, and o for out. The editing software we used was Final Cut Pro. I had some background with editing videos but I had no idea what you could produce. One of the most important things I learned was the six shot sequence. This is absolutely a skill I will have to use later on and will be exceptionally helpful.  I had the opportunity to get the perception of actually working for a client in the way that we had to meet deadlines and present our finished projects. Another technique that was developed was team work. In practically every project we had to collaborate with one or more person. This helped me expand creativity by sharing ideas with others and getting feedback to make our projects the best they could be. This quarter assisted me greatly in progressing my video production skills.

Web Assignment

The project was pretty easy to me. I finished pretty quickly and it wasn't too difficult. I had fun doing this project and it was interesting to me. I like web design, the only thing I dislike is the coding because it sort of freaks me out. All the random letters and numbers scare me a little but it's fun. I think over time coding won't freak me out so much and I'll start to like web design more.

Chase Scene

While filming my chase scene, I learned how to use the six shot sequence while moving to several locations. This project also helped me learn how to compress time using the six shot sequence. I will apply these skills of setting the shots and using them to compress time in my next project.

In this project, we worked as a team of four other than two. Instead of just having one actor and one filmer we had multiple people for each job. This helped us ensure that every shot was framed correctly and every action was good. In my next project we can make sure that everyone has a job because we kind of had trouble finding a helpful job for everyone. We also need to collaborate and stay on task more.

AB Sequence

While doing this project I learned how to better use the six shot sequence and film in two locations. I also learned that the shots must be less than four seconds in order to not be boring. I had to add more shots while walking because of this. It helped me be able to retain and apply this knowledge in future filming. In my next project, I will allow myself more shots so that the clips do not exceed four seconds, as this caused me some issues in this project. Collaboration is working with one or more person so end with a product. In this case we had to elaborate with the “director” and the “actor”. The director must give the actor detailed instructions to end up with the product they want to create. The actor has to follow the instructions to a point so that the group doesn’t have to film again.

The six shots in the sequence are the extra wide shot, extra close up, medium shot, close up, wide shot, and over the shoulder shot. The extra wide shot shows the entire scene. The extra close up is a close up of the hand and shows what the person is doing. The medium shot shows the person from hips up. The close up is a close up of the persons face to show a mood or reaction. The wide shot shows the person head to toe. The over the shoulder shot shows the relative view of what the person on film sees.       I learned how to line up clips so they look like a continuous shot. I also learned how the cameras worked and how to set up the tripods. In my next project, I will apply getting multiple views of the action by using these shots. This project was helpful in teaching me how to use different shots and how to film.

Highlight Video

I used several tools to make my video in Final Cut Pro. The blade tool was probably the most helpful tool I used in editing my video. This tool is used by pressing command b on the keyboard and then clicking on the part of the clip that you want to “slice” in half. You can use this tool to trim clips of your video. I used it to help get the video on time with the music. I also used the left and right arrows on the keyboard so I could end and begin the video at the exact time that I want it to. I picked cheerleading because it is my favorite sport and activity. It’s really fun but hard at the same time which is what I like about it. I also like it because I met most of my friends through cheerleading. I’ve been cheering since I can remember. Cheerleading is my absolute favorite thing to do.

Examination of my dream home

I am pretty satisfied with my dream home. One of my favorite things about it is all of the windows. On the right side wall of the house there is a large window panel. On the left extension of the house there is a window panel that basically covers the whole wall. There are also three arched windows which I like because they add some unique-ness compared to the average rectangular windows. I think windows are a simply way to make the home look better on both the exterior and interior.

My absolute favorite thing about my house is the roof top garden. It's a creative idea and I really like it. I created the fence, grass, and railing. The palm tree and flowers were from the 3D warehouse.  My house is plain, so this garden helps spice it up. I also like the railing's color. My house has little color, so the railing adds color.

Using Sketchup helped extend my knowledge of shapes and was helpful for not only animation but all of the other E-comm branches. It will be useful in graphic design to have some prior knowledge to modeling and the shapes over technology. Now that I can model in three dimensions, it will be even easier when I'm only modeling in two dimensions. I think that having used Sketchup will help in the future and it taught me a lot.

My Personality Type

My Personality Type

My Myers-Briggs personality is ENFP. I'm enthusiastic and I think about the possibilities. ENFPs are social and being in group of people makes them happy. They are curious about life and people. ENFPs also make decisions based off of their feelings.
I think that I am an ENFP. Almost all of the characteristics relate to me. The only one that is a little off is that I don't like to present or talk to a large group alone. But, I would prefer to be with a group of friends rather than alone or only with one friend. My personality explains why I like cheerleading so much. ENFPs are very enthusiastic and cheerleaders are full of enthusiasm.
When I'm in a team I generally will talk a lot if I know what we are working on. If I don't really know the subject too well then I'll let someone else take the lead. I'm flexible with what we're doing and that's a  characteristic of ENFPs. My personality is social but sometimes I can come off as quiet. I'm pretty good with talking to people now but I used to be kind of quiet when meeting people. I don't have big issues with anyone and that may be because I'm flexible with the situation and I can "go with the flow".
